Sendinc Encrypted Email with Apple Mail for OSX
This article demonstrates how the Mac computer can be quickly configured to send encrypted emails using Sendinc.
Prerequisites
- A Sendinc Email Alias - Don't have one? Enable Your Email Alias
- A Mac with Apple Mail for OSX
Step 1:
From your Mac, open the "Mail" application.
Step 2:
Open the preferences by navigating to "Mail > Preferences" in the top menu bar.
Step 3:
Select the "Accounts" tab.
Step 4:
Click the "+" button in the bottom left to add a new mail account.
Step 5:
Select "Add Other Mail Account..." and click "Continue".
Step 6:
Fill out the form:
- Set your
Full Name
- Set
Email Address
to your Sendinc Email Alias - Set
Password
to our Sendinc Password
Step 7:
Click "Create".
Step 8:
A message will pop up saying "Account Must be Manually Configured". Click "Next".
Step 9:
Fill out the form:
- Set
Account Type
to "IMAP" - Set
Mail Server
to "imap.sendinc.net" - Set
User Name
to your Sendinc Email Alias - Set
Password
to your Sendinc Password
Step 10:
Click "Next".
Step 11:
Fill out the form:
- Set
SMTP Server
to "smtp.sendinc.net" - Set
User Name
to your Sendinc Email Alias - Set
Password
to your Sendinc Password
Step 12:
Click "Create".
Step 13:
When composing a new message, set the Sendinc Email Alias account you just created as the From
address before sending.
All Done!
Send a test email to yourself to make sure everything works!
