How do I anonymize my user data in Phishing campaign? What will it look like in reporting after this option is selected on a campaign?
Answer
During the phishing campaign creation, you can optionally choose to anonymize the user data. This action cannot be undone once the campaign is created.
- Click the checkbox next to User Data Options - Anonymize User Data in Results
- Select Create Campaign
- You will receive a popup notifying you that you will not be able to obtain individual user data due to anonymizing
- Click Create Campaign again to finish campaign creation process.
Selecting to anonymize the data:
- Affects Phishing high level reports
- Is on a campaign by campaign basis
- Anonymizes First Name, Last Name and Email Address in Phishing reports
- Anonymizes username in Data Entry Campaigns
- Does not obfuscate data at the database level (currently not available at this time)
- Cannot be undone once the campaign is created.
- Any Custom Properties you choose to sync would still be tied to the user in the export reports.
What to expect in reporting from an Anonymized Campaign
Anonymizing a campaign affects Phishing high level reports. This specifically refers to exports available under Campaign Actions for a given campaign. The User data will be obfuscated in the product reports into 'encrypted' random strings.
On the Campaign Dashboard > Users Tab, the user's name will be replaced with first and last placeholders. Email address will also not be visible.
