What's New?
New Mac agent for VIPRE Endpoint Security Cloud
This release includes a new Mac agent for VIPRE Endpoint Security Cloud which brings the power and efficiency of our Windows protection to this new platform. You can now manage and protect your Mac and Windows devices from within a single pane of glass and give your users a slick new agent with proactive real-time protection. The Mac agent has already passed independent testing from AV Comparatives with flying colors, and greatly improves on the Mac agent previously only available within Server Edition. Features include:
New Mac agent certified on Mac OS X 10.11-10.14.x
Flexible policy management allowing you to specify how much control you give to your users
Real-time Active Protection catches threats as soon as they touch your system
Simple and flexible policy and exclusion model similar to our Windows implementation
Operational and Threat data transparently rolls up to Endpoint Cloud dashboards and reports, and supports full drill down and pivoting data exploration
Scan/reboot/uninstall the agent remotely from the Cloud console
This new Mac agent expands your zone of protection to cover more of your environment and makes it easy to manage all your devices.

Agent status for Auto-update Application and Auto-update Threat Definitions is always green/enabled [VIPREMAC-1734]
The agent for Mac UI always displays the status of Auto-update Application and Auto-update Threat Definitions as green/enabled regardless of the policy settings for these options. This is because the settings are controlled by VIPRE Endpoint Cloud through the policy. The user cannot change them through the Agent UI.
Workaround: To view or change the settings for Auto-update Application and Auto-update Threat Definitions, log in to VIPRE Endpoint Cloud console and view or edit the Mac policy. The options are under the Agent group of settings.
Agent install may prompt for Destination Select on some macOS versions [VIPREMAC-1771]
During install of the agent, the installer may prompt to Select a Destination, however you cannot actually specify the destination. In some cases, the subsequent Choose Installation option will not work. This has been intermittently experienced on macOS Sierra.
Workaround: If the destination select screen appears then quit and re-run the installer. The option usually will not show up next time.
Results of manual scans might be returned prior to remediation completion [VIPREMAC-1724]
When the policy settings Allow manual scan and Remediate manual scans are enabled, scan results could be returned to VIPRE Endpoint Cloud prior to the time that the user took action to remediate any items found by the scan. When this occurs, the scan results show the number of items reported but no items as cleaned.
Workaround: The agent UI will display the actions taken by the user.
After upgrade agent from Beta build to GA build - UI dashboard will not open [VIPREMAC-1861]
This is due to a permissions error from the beta build.
Workaround: Reassigning or updating the policy for the agent will resolve this problem.
