Changing your Proofpoint Essentials password

Situation You have forgotten your password or need to change your password for other reasons.
Solution See below for how to change your password in your User Profile and enable SMS Password Reset if desired.

 

Forgot Password

If you forgot your password and cannot log-in, please see this KB on how to reset your password.

Change/Update Password In Profile

  1. After logging in to the interface, hover over the 'person' icon in the upper right and click on Profile. profile_dropdown.png
  2. Under User Profile, find Change Password.  
  3. Enter your new password in the field.
  4. Type it again in the Retype New Password field.
  5. Click Save.

Password Requirements

Passwords must be 12 characters long.

Passwords must contain at least one uppercase letter.

Passwords must contain at least one lowercase letter.

Passwords must contain at least one numerical character.

Passwords must contain at least one special character.

Remember Password will expire in 90 days.
 
SMS password reset

Your password can be reset via SMS, but it requires that a cell phone number be input into the profile.

In the same location as above, in your Profile page, you can input your cell phone number in the Mobile number field. Please make sure you correctly identify the country for the phone number for this to work properly.
