Audience: ZixCloud Encryption Administrators
In certain circumstances the Secure Messaging Portal (a.k.a ZixPortal) can be susceptible to spearfishing attempts, and Zix's recommendation is to have the Open-time Passcode (OTP) feature enabled as a way to combat this potential issue.
The steps to enable the OTP features are quick and easy. Use the following steps to enable OTP in your portal:
- Login to your Secure Messaging Portal admin account
- Navigate to the Email Encryption tab
- On the Portal Management tab, click Manage to manage the settings of your client's portal
- Click Security to go to the security settings for your portal
- Enable the One-time Passcode (OTP) feature
- Click Save
One-time Password (OTP) allows portal users to reset or register their passwords using a one-time code sent to their email address. When this option is selected, a user will be sent a one-time code as part of their password change or registration process, which they will then need to enter before they complete their password changes.
Note: You cannot use this feature in conjunction with challenge questions or the password reminder features. If you have either of these features enabled, contact Customer Support to remove those features from your portal.
You are designated as an Authorized Contact. All Authorized Contacts can manage their individual notification preferences online. Account Admins can also manage your company's authorized contacts.
Sincerely,
Zix Customer Support
