Outbound Token
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the highest standards of email security for our valued customers, we are excited to introduce a powerful new feature to fortify your defenses against potential threats - the Outbound Token.
In the summer of 2023 we extended domain authentication to outbound email. This was in direct response to a Microsoft 365 compromise resulting in spam and phishing attacks being relayed through VIPRE outbound servers. We understand the impact this may have had on your business at the time, from service slowdowns to unwarranted blacklistings by major email providers such as Google.
The Outbound Token [Implementation instructions HERE] is our response to this evolving landscape, designed to empower you with a robust solution that goes beyond conventional security measures. Here's why adopting the Outbound Token is not just a feature but a strategic best practice:
-
Enhanced Security Posture
The Outbound Token adds an additional layer of security by uniquely identifying and authenticating legitimate outbound traffic from your cloud based email tenant
-
Preventing Service Disruptions
The Outbound Token acts as a preventive measure, ensuring that only authenticated and authorised traffic is processed.
-
Mitigating Risks of Blacklisting
Avoid the repercussions of being blacklisted by major email providers. The Outbound Token mitigates this risk by providing a reliable method for distinguishing legitimate traffic from potential malicious activities.
-
Industry Best Practice
By Adopting the Outbound Token, your organisation is at the forefront of reshaping industry best practices, demonstrating your commitment to enhancing the security of email communications
-
Easy Integration and Low Impact
Implementing the Outbound Token is a straightforward process. It seamlessly integrates with your existing email infrastructure, requiring only a simple rule in Exchange online, and ensures a minimal impact on your operations.
-
Proactive Customer Support
Our team is dedicated to providing proactive support throughout the implementation process. We offer comprehensive assistance, documentation, and resources to make your adoption of Outbound Tokens seamless.
The Outbound Token is optional for now, but will be enforced for all Google and Microsoft 365 customers in the future. For instructions on how to implement the Outbound Token, click HERE
