The New Sonian archive service will no longer be supporting the LDAP Bind method of user authentication that you may already be using.
What will this mean to you?
You will not be able to control access to your users, with User self registration and the ability to authenticate using their current local AD passwords and LDAP bind configuration. To access the services, each of your users would have to navigate to the new archive login screen (that will be provided once the account has been upgraded), and to select ' Forgotten Password ' to set a manual password.
What else can we do, what will View archive support?
Sonian has removed the direct interaction with the archive and local/on-premise directory services in favour of the use of modern technologies that can utilise cloud authentication methods. Such tools we have invested in is Google & their SSO (open ID) services and the Microsoft SSO & Azure Directory Integration & Sync services.
If you are currently using Microsoft Active Directory, on-premise, the steps we would recommend would be for you to invest time researching the implementation of Microsoft Azure Directory Services, that also has a Active Directory Connector, that links your On-premise AD to the Azure Cloud directory. All safe and securely. This process can work even better if you are looking to integrate / move to O365.
Once you have such an implementation in place, you could then open up a new world of further increasing your reach in protecting and managing your users that may use of other cloud services, alongside the new Sonian View archive platform.
