Proofpoint: Disable Plugin Detection

Question

How do I disable plug-in detection in Phishing?

Answer

Phishing allows you to disable the detection of various browser plugin versions on a per-campaign basis. The primary reason to disable plug-in detection is to ensure that the experience for the user is as you intended it to be.  For those campaigns where you feel that the user experience is more valuable than gathering plug-in version details, we suggest that you disable the specific plugin that is causing the pop-up.

To disable specific plugin detection for your campaign, deselect the applicable checkbox from the campaign creation page.

In the vast majority of cases the plugin that generally displays a pop-up is Java.

We encourage you to test in your environment to see if any of these plugins produce a message before toggling them off.
