Proofpoint: Phishing Attachments Open in Protected View

Question

The attachment campaigns I am testing are opening in Protected Mode. How do I avoid this so that my teachable moment is delivered to my users?

Answer

Attachments presenting in protected mode is the expected behavior. In order to disable this, you would need to turn off the Protected view button in Trust Center. However this is not recommended and not best practice.

If protected mode is not allowing your users to see a teachable moment we suggest using a .html version of an attachment campaign instead of .doc or .zip.
