This is generic article that should help with journal rules on Exchange for specifically Office 365 see the related article.
When using Exchange with Email Security - Archiving there are 2 parts to the configuration setting up a separate send connector, and configuring the journaling.
Creating a new Send Connector:
This is needed to make sure that archived mail doesn't go back through the filter and rick being stopped or double archived.
- Log in to the Exchange Management Console (EMC)
- Select the Organization Configuration and then Hub Transport
- Select the Send Connectors Tab click New Send Connector...
- Give the connector a name and chose Custom from the drop down
- In the Address Space enter archive.mailanyone.net
(make sure the cost is lower than any other smart hosts that might cover this address space) - Click Next
- Pick the Option to Use domain name system (DNS) "MX" records to route mail automatically
- Click OK and Next
- Set authentication to None and click Next
- Do not make any changes to Source Server settings and click Next
- Click Next and then New
Setting up the Journaling:
Once the connector is configured we need to start sending internal mail to the archive (Email Security - Archiving will automatically create copies of external mail as it passes through our systems).
- Log in to the Exchange Management Console (EMC)
- Select the Organization Configuration and then Hub Transport
- Select the Journal Rules tab and click New Journal Rule...
- Enter the details:
- Select [Apply to all messages] for the option *If the message is sent to or from...
- Select Internal messages only on the *Journal the following messages...
- In the *Send journal reports to enter your archive address you have got from Service Settings > Email Security - Archiving section of your portal. (this will be a long string followed by @archive.mailanyone.net)
- Give the rule a Name
- Click Save
- Make sure the rule is enabled by looking at the tick box
- This will now start archiving all internal mail
